Shinichi, a bilingual writer (English and Japanese), has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, his diagnoses added ADHD. This milestone marks his life for him. The writer (Shinichi) took the CELPIP test in Tokyo Nov 10th. He mapped out his detailed trip planning in his devices and notebooks. But Shinichi couldn’t stop his temptations. For example, he is frequently hungry. This mental barrier is hindering his progress towards success.

Dopamine Hinders His Achievements

Shinichi is neither a researcher nor a doctor. However, he is fascinated by the behaviour of ASD and ADHD. For example, Shinichi is good at planning travel routes, such as flight and train schedules. For this reason, his interest tends to overfocus on his planning due to ASD traits.

On the other hand, Shinichi frequently uses his brain. Consequently, his brain craves glucose more than non-autistic individuals. Moreover, glucose in his brain boosts his thinking energy. But Shinichi occasionally has insomnia. As a result, he is often drowsy in the daytime. Shinichi guessed the reason for his overfocusing interest was probably his dopamine rush.

Based on his self-analysis, Shinichi has discovered that his dopamine levels react differently to two types of situations:

1. “I really would like to purchase it.”

2. “I need to buy it. That is why I will buy it.”

In both cases, Shinichi’s eyes gaze on the items and their prices. Generally, non-autistic individuals may also consider whether they truly need the item at that particular moment before making a purchase decision. As a result, he made his blunder by buying or subscribing to it.

Dilemma of Dual Diagnoses of ASD/ADHD

Individuals with only ADHD can act on their plan immediately. They can make decisions very quickly. In addition, they can consult with peers, friends, colleagues, and families very well. On the other hand, individuals with ASD are good at making decisions in the long term. These traits also coined their disadvantages.

How about individuals double-diagnosed with ASD/ADHD? They can see the facts from both perspectives. Conversely, they tend to struggle with double mistakes. His father graduated from Waseda University. He always thinks logically. Shinichi guesses he is truly a person with ASD only. Shinichi has two mothers. His first mother frequently purchased a lot of toys and subscribed to two educational magazines for kids. Shinichi guesses his first mother is truly a person with ADHD.

Comparisons through IELTS

Shinichi has both genetic traits. For this reason, he often struggles with dilemmas between two-person discussions, such as the following;

  1. Mother and father
  2. School and home
  3. Lead team and subordinates
  4. Staff and members
  5. Disabled persons and ordinary persons

Since Shinichi met the IELTS strategy, he could alleviate his mind and develop a knack for resolving conflicts with different opponents. It has grown in his mind. His IELTS studying method is “Comparison.” Read his first book, “ASD IELTS.” It contains many comparisons. Shinichi sells only on Amazon, but someday, he would like to spread this method to people with special needs.
