Q: In general, office workers usually take a vacation on weekends (or national holidays). On the other hand, some shift workers sometimes take a day off on weekdays. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.  Write at least 250 words.

In general, office workers take a day off on the weekend. As a result, they have to finish within their tight schedule on the weekday. In contrast, shift workers sometimes take a day off on weekdays. As a result, they can go to public facilities on weekdays. This essay will explain both views of taking days off on weekends or weekdays.

On the one hand, office workers can enjoy a vacation on the weekend.  For instance, if they are parents, they can go to a shopping mall with their children to buy goods such as stationery. As a result, children can select appropriate clothes or goods with advice from their parents or brothers. However, it might be busy for parents to do many tasks on the weekend. In addition, they have to do housework too, such as buying groceries, cleaning a room and taking care of children or elderly people. For these reasons, it is a precious time for office workers to take a day off on weekends.

On the other hand, shift workers can avoid peak time well. For example, some banks and city halls are usually open on weekdays. Thus, office workers tend to visit these facilities during lunchtime or breaks. As a result, office workers have to wait a long time. In contrast, shift workers can go to the bank and city hall at the exact time. Thus, shift workers can utilize their time effectively. Also, shift workers can visit a restaurant at a precise time. As a result, chefs and waiters can offer excellent service to them. For these reasons, I think shift workers can avoid peak time well.

In conclusion, office workers can enjoy a long vacation with families, friends, and acquaintances. However, they have to do many tasks on short days. In contrast, shift workers can visit public facilities and restaurants. As a result, they can utilize their precious time effectively.
